One chair, 10 designers: The iconic Sierra chair from Croft House is reimagined

Photography: Gigi Aly

One chair, 10 designers: Croft House is celebrating 10 years of their iconic Sierra chair by collaborating with 10 interior designers to create unique variations of the classic design. Contributing to Croft House’s first product collaboration are Adair Curtis of JSN Studio, Brooke Wagner of Brooke Wagner Design, Elena Dendiberia and Homan Rajai of Studio Ahead, Emilie Munroe of Studio Munroe, Faith Blakeney of Studio Faith Blakeney, Jeff Andrews of Jeff Andrews Design, Linda Hayslett of LH.Designs, Max Humphrey, Noz Nozawa of Noz Designs, and Tali Roth of Tali Roth Interior Design. Each of the designers put their own spin on the powder coat of the metal frame and the cushion fabric.

“Our goal with this project is to celebrate the Sierra Chair’s legacy and highlight the incredible creativity and talent of these designers,” says Croft House designer, Kari Streib. “We were thrilled with how they interpreted the chair and made it their own, and we can’t wait to share the results with the design community.”

In the decade since its debut, Croft House’s original Sierra Chair has gone from West Coast cult favorite to a staple of contemporary design coast to coast. Croft House’s flagship piece blends minimalist design principles with a homey-comfort in the form of a thin steel frame and oversized natural cushion. As the Sierra Chair enters its second decade, the collaboration with these talented designers is a fitting celebration of its enduring appeal and stylistic flexibility.
